LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE &
LAND PLANNING
Landscape architecture and planning combines the elements of design with the required functional demands of a project. Although the scale may vary—from hundreds of acres to a small garden home lot—the design principles do not. Functional parameters normally lead the design, but the final package must be one that fits well into the environment, has an overall aesthetic appeal, and is a product that exemplifies successful population use and financial return on investment. It is critical that this first phase of project development be done in a manner that subsequent engineering designs complement the project without creating impossible engineering requirements.
